William Hamilton, MD
“I started as a family practice resident and transitioned to an ob/gyn residency in order to deliver more babies. Then I also fell in love with gynecologic surgery and the opportunity to significantly improve many women’s lives.
“Obstetrics is a mix of wonderful families. I enjoy sharing their pregnancy and helping them bring a new family member into the world safely. Yes, there are some difficult moments in both obstetrics and gynecology, but with a strong bond, we – the patient, her support and I – work through them.
“I truly enjoy working with each patient to understand her concerns and together developing a personalized care plan that addresses those concerns.”

Before joining Women’s Health Care of Morgantown, Dr. Hamilton completed a career as an ob/gyn in the United States Air Force. For 23 years, he provided medical care and chaired numerous ob/gyn departments on US Air Force bases in the United States and abroad. Dr. Hamilton currently serves as Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology Services at Monongalia General Hospital.
