Now offering the latest hysterectomy techniques.
While there are excellent alternatives that may let you avoid hysterectomy, sometimes this procedure is necessary. Drs. William Hamilton, Murshid Latif and Craig Herring have years of experience with vaginal hysterectomies, having performed hundreds of these procedures. However Dr. William Hamilton has special expertise perfoming the supracervical, minimally invasive hysterectomy procedure.- Vaginal hysterectomy – By removing the uterus through the vagina, no external incisions are required. Operating time and recovery time are shorter than with other hysterectomy techniques.
- Laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy – With this surgery, just three to four tiny incisions in the abdomen are needed. This procedure leaves the opening to the uterus – the cervix – intact. Leaving the cervix may help you avoid problems related to pelvic floor support in the future, such as urinary incontinence, and avoid the need for pelvic reconstruction. It may also help preserve sexual response. You can expect a shorter hospital stay (usually just one night), faster recovery and less postoperative pain and scarring than with other hysterectomy approaches.
Women’s Health Care of Morgantown also provides the latest techniques for endometrial ablation giving premenopausal women with heavy periods welcome relief.
